10:00 AM meet at the Table Rock State Park PT Trail head located at the Pinnacle Pavilion parking lot.
From Highway 11 enter the West gate of the park and take a left at the campground/Palmetto Trail trailhead sign.  Drive past the campground and trailhead is at the end of the road.  There is a State Park entrance fee per vehicle payable when entering the park.
We will walk about 2 miles one way (4 miles round trip) on the Palmetto Trail.  The trail climbs moderately through the state park and then descends to a small creek crossing which could be wet depending on the water level.  The trail climbs moderately to the border of the Jocassee Gorges boundary.
This section of the PT is the beginning of the Blue Ridge Co-Op Passage which is a 12.7 mile (one way) trail ending at Hwy. 178.  The beginning of the trail is on the flank of Pinnacle Mountain and is a beautiful mixed hardwood forest.  Hikers should see several species of Spring wildflowers.
Please wear sturdy hiking boots/shoes and bring rain gear, drinking water and snack or lunch.  Trekking/hiking poles are recommended.  Bathrooms available in the campground.
