Last year's Trails & Tails event along the Fort Jackson Passage of the Palmetto Trail was so successful, we were more than thrilled to have the opportunity to join forces with the City of Columbia Animal Services again this year!
The community is invited to join Palmetto Conservation Foundation (PCF) and the City of Columbia Animal Services on Saturday, Feb. 6, for a fun day of giving on the Palmetto Trail. Donations will support Animal Services and the city’s fur friends in need.
All shelter dogs at the event and many other animals under the care of Animal Services are available for adoption. During the Trails & Tails event, adoptions will cost only $14—the Valentine’s special. In addition, those adopting will receive a one-year membership to Palmetto Conservation Foundation.
“We love this event for the shelter dogs. The social time is so important for them mentally and emotionally, and of course, they love the exercise,” Animal Services Superintendent Marli Drum said. “It’s amazing to watch the dogs settle into the walk and just completely relax once they’re given the chance to get out of the shelter for even a few hours. Plus it’s great awareness for adoptions.”
